If you have registered and are no longer able to attend, we encourage you to find an AIC member to assign to your registration. If you are not successful in doing so, the cancellation terms are as follows:

On or before April 15 : Full Refund less a $75 administration fee.

After April 15 : No refund

Scott has expertise in Government Affairs, Health Policy, and Municipal Government Finance. His work has addressed complex challenges such as national health testing initiatives, housing affordability, economic development, and municipal governance.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Administration in Management & Business Administration from Laurentian University. His commitment to continuous professional development is underscored by executive certificates in Negotiation from Harvard Law School, Management & Leadership from MIT Sloan School of Management, and Governance from Queen’s University.

Margie Carslon

Chief Executive Officer

Appraisal Institute of Canada- Ontario

Margie, the current AIC-ON CEO, formerly worked at Birch Housing as Executive Director for five years managing the business transformation of a mixed-income portfolio of apartment buildings and townhouses in five Ontario cities. Margie has experience with governance, government and member relations, political advocacy, policy development and strategic execution. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Anthropology and is an accredited housing professional by the Chartered Institute of Housing (Canada/UK).

Paul Duarte P.App, CRA

Paul has been a committed volunteer in both the real estate and appraisal fields.  He has served with various committees within the Mississauga Real Estate Board, several focus groups at the corporate level, and mentored new CRA candidates. He also is an AIC-ON Past President . He owns his own firm in the GTA area and holds the CRA designation.

John has provided real estate valuation services to high net-worth private sector investors, developers, lawyers, financial institutions, accounting firms, pension funds, real estate divisions of national corporations, various levels of government, etc. John joined Altus Group in February 2015 and is an accredited appraiser with over 25 years of experience and has participated in the preparation of more than 1,750 valuations and consulting assignments during his career.

She is an active Canadian Association of Farm Advisors (CAFA) Wellington Chapter member and is deeply committed to professional development and continuous learning. Kim volunteers within the appraisal profession, engages in panels, and supports students at the University of Guelph. Kim has earned recognition as AIC-ON’s youngest President and earned multiple accolades such as “Tyler Beatty – Top Appraiser under 40 for 2023” from AIC , “Young Professional of the Year for 2023” from Guelph Chamber of Commerce.

Matthew Rae, MPP

Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing

Matthew has over a decade of experience in strategic communication, stakeholder relations, and public affairs roles. He has built partnerships across industry, government and non-profit sectors.

Matthew has also assisted in a variety of successful infrastructure and community projects and helped secure millions of dollars in government funding for them.

Simran Singh is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce where he leads the Chamber’s policy work on AI & innovation, industrial policy and workforce development and co-Chairs OCC’s Workforce Development Policy Council. Prior to joining the OCC, Simran spent over 6 years working for the Ontario Public Service as a civil servant across ministries of finance, economic development, and transportation. He holds a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Windsor and a Masters in Public Policy from the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy

Spencer Sommerville

AIC Candidate Member

Spencer has been an AIC Candidate Member and working with Home Value Inc since 2014. In addition to appraising properties across the Greater Toronto Area, Spencer now serves as the Assistant Managing Director at HVI, and is part of the team developing TopDog Appraisal

Ray Sullivan

Executive Director

Canadian Housing & Renewal Association

Ray has over two decades of experience managing, creating, and advocating for affordable non-profit housing. He is well known to many CHRA members from his past work at Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC), the Ottawa Community Land Trust, and many community housing sector boards and advisory groups. Ray served on the CHRA Board of Directors from April 2019 to May 2022. He was asked by the current Board to step in as Interim Executive Director in July 2022.

Eric Tworo P.App, AACI

AIC Ontario President

Eric was born & raised in Sudbury. He attended the University of Western Ontario, where he obtained his B.A. in Geography. He later graduated from Seneca College Real Property Administration program & holds a Real Property Assessment certificate from UBC. Eric has undertaken a wide range of appraisal & consulting work throughout the Sudbury area & Northern Ontario and holds the commercial designation(P.App, AACI) from the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Eric has also volunteered on the AIC-ON Board since 2014.

Jayme Wilson

Jayme is a highly skilled and accomplished consultant, specializing in communications direction and navigating the political landscape. She has worked with election candidates seeking federal, provincial, or municipal office, as well as several Cabinet Ministers, including the Minister of Public Services and Procurement, the Minister of National Defence, and the Minister of Families, Children, and Social Development Canada.

Voula Vercillo, P.App, CRA

AIC Ontario Director at Large

Voula Vercillo has over 30 years of progressive experience with expert knowledge of real estate practices and principles, land titles, mortgage financing and leasing. Her career started with TD Canada Trust as an appraiser.  She moved to Home Trust as a site inspector.  Currently she is a consultant in the real estate sector. Her expertise enables her to review, evaluate and approve real estate appraisal documents and reports, including leases, purchase agreements, rent schedules, construction plans, architectural drawings and both narrative and form appraisals for residential and commercial real estate. 

Tim Weber

Tim leads Diverso Energy’s business development efforts working with new clients and identifying new market opportunities.

Tim has over 25 years in the HVAC industry with 15 of those focused exclusively on geothermal.
