Dean MacKinnon
Dean MacKinnon has nearly two decades of experience in property assessment within the Government of Prince Edward Island’s Department of Finance. He began as a Non-Commercial Property Assessor and advanced through various roles, including Commercial Property Assessor and Commercial Property Assessment Supervisor. Currently, he holds the position of Non-Commercial Property Assessment Supervisor, with a focus on accuracy, uniformity, and the implementation of technology to refine assessment methodologies. In his current role, Dean prioritizes needs assessment, actively seeking opportunities for innovative change and streamlining procedural workflows.
Dean holds certifications, including a P. App., AACI designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (2013), and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification from Microsoft Corporation. Prior to his tenure in public service, Dean served as an IT Networking Specialist at Island Waste Management Corporation, where he oversaw network infrastructure and IT systems. Drawing from his extensive background in both real estate valuation and IT architecture, Dean brings a unique perspective to his work, emphasizing analytics-driven process management.
